In the beginning there wasn't Adam and Eve. Instead, there was Adam and Lilith. You will not find this tradition in any standard King James Version Bible-- or just about any modern Bible at that. Instead, you will have to do some digging if you want to find proof. You can find it in older Jewish records of the dawning of time. The explanation goes more hand in hand with most creation theories that have been conveyed through history. God created the world. Then, he crafted two human beings out of clay. They were lifeless golems that he breathed holy life into. One of them became male and one of them became female. The names that were given to these two individuals were Adam and Lilith. They were created as equal counterparts to one another, each given specific duties to be held accountable for in the Garden of Eden.
What happened next is the ultimate act of defiance and feminism. Being that Adam was created first and as the physically superior being, he tried to boss Lilith around and tell her what to do. She wasn't having any of this. When Adam told God what was going on, Lilith was cast out of the Garden of Eden into the darkness. Eve was then created out of Adams rid, so that way she'd be part of him. This would force her to be completely subservient to Adam, that way he could pretty much make her do whatever he wanted her to do. Then came the whole "woman must obey her husband" mantras. I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just saying that's how it happened.
As for Lilith, she is the perfect example of a fallen angel. Well, she wasn't exactly an angel, but she did exhibit white light powers that God had given her. They were powerful kind of magic. When she was cast out into the dark for simply not obeying Adam, her powers went rogue. She turned to dark ways, becoming a newer, female version of Satan. She, too, was once a glorious being created to be the mother of all humanity. Instead, she was cast away. This caused her to turn from all things that were white light. She became a night-walker and not in the sense of a hooker in Vegas. Rather, she hated all things associated with light, so would only come out at night. As time went on and humanity was also kicked out of the Garden of Eden, she hunted humans feasted upon their blood. She did this for two reasons. The first and most obvious was to spite God and his creation. The second was that she thought that drinking the blood of humans would restore her to her former white light glory. It didn't work.
Lilith remained as a night-walker, living in dark places during the day, existing only in shadows. By night she hunted God's human. Those inflicted by the bite of Lilith became the victims of what is known as Lilith's Curse. They would die a full death, only to be resurrected as a night walker just as she was, devoid of all light and all hope. The newer creation would then crave blood as well. This would lead them to feeding off of other young women, who would then become vampires themselves. I guess the correct term would be succubus, but you can use the two interchangeably. This army of darkness would use their powers to seduce men, as well as women. They put the humans under their spell, which was impossible to break once enacted. This used this mind control to lead the human they hunted to an empty place, where they'd feed off of the them. The men would simply die, because Lilith was not interested in adding men to her army. However, the females all became Lilith's children. It went on this way for over 1,000 years, with Lilith collecting millions of souls as her own daughters.
During the Middle Ages, there was an outbreak of plague. It left millions dead and was the perfect breeding grounds for Lilith. She traveled from country to country, assailing the bodies of those who were deemed dead. The fact of the matter is that in these days, medical advances weren't profound. In saying this, I mean to convey that people were commonly pronounced dead before they were actually dead. These are the types that Lilith fed on-- the ones who were thought to be dead, but they weren't quite as dead as some humans might have thought. Lilith had a sixth sense for this kind of thing-- to sense life. After all, she was given a very powerful arsenal of magic before her out-casting. Over the years it was perfected and she used it to create very many powers. Being able to smell human presence was just one of the many. Being able to control human minds was just once of many. Remember, she knows how human bodies work, she used to be one.
Lilith came to her victims dressed in red satin, symbolic of the fact that she had come to collect the blood of the fallen and to claim their soul. She became known to some as the Scary Lady or Lady Scarlett. It was said that she could only feed off of those whose rites had not been read to them or whose souls otherwise did not belong to God. It is said that Lilith then showed up as a beautiful woman to console the dead and dying. Instead, she would drink their blood and curse their souls to become as she was. This was known as the Curse of the Scarlett Lady, or in some instances the Red Death. Edgar Alan Poe even wrote a book about it, with cryptic clues about how to beat the Read Death. You won't read about these instances in any history books. The presence of Lilith has been so covered-up that her existence has practically been wiped off the face of Earth.
It came to pass that during the Middle Ages, there was a group of undead that simply did not sit well with their destiny. This group of young ladies, not immortal, banded together in an attempt to over-run Lilith's power. They did not use their powers for evil, in fact seeking out a wealth of white light that rendered their powers and existence dual instead of the dark connotations previously given to them by Lilith. They called themselves the Scarlett Order. They are an order of immortal vampiresses. They are their own coven, but have never inducted anyone else into their ranks and the feed off of white light energy rather than human blood. There was a power struggle between them and the Order of Lilith. Obviously good always defeats evil and now Lilith and all of her daughters have been sent back to Hell and trapped there, where they belong. The only way to contact Lilith these days is through summoning. The Scarlett Order still lives on till this day, though. They live among mortals and appear as normal every-day women, except they never age.
