KISS AND TELL

We recently were called back to ireland, and since Mitch wasn't with on our last trip, we traveled to the Blarney Castle, the sight of the famous blarney stone.<br /><br />

We arrived at the castle early in the morning in the hopes that there would be less people standing in line for a kiss with the blarney stone. Looking at the entrance we realized that our efforts were in vain, as the line extended out past the entrance of the castle. It was frustrating but we were already there, so all we could do is wait our turn.<br /><br />

We stood in the line of tourists for the better part of an hour before our turn with the stone was coming up. For those of our readers who don't know, according to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). We all went one by one, laying on our backs, putting our heads through the hole and then kissing the stone. Once that was done with, we tried out our new found abilities by trying to persuade each other to do little silly things. Not noticing much of a change, we made our way out of the castle. <br /><br />

On the way out, me being my clumsy self, I managed to trip over some loose rock, landing right on my chest. As laughter filled the air around me I looked up to the ground in front of me, and saw a beautiful ring just sitting there under some tall grass. As everyones laughter faded and we made our way back to our transportation, I held the ring in my hand, studying it, and wondering where it came from.<br /><br />

As we drove along we were all discussing where we all wanted to go to eat, and no one seemed to agree with me on where I wanted to go. I placed the ring on my finger for whatever reason, and within two minutes, I had the car of arguing people agreeing with me on where to go.<br /><br />

Then I thought about the ring, and where I had found it, and then it came to me, the ring held the true powers of the blarney stone! All night I was persuading those around me to do my bidding, and it was surprisingly easy to do! I just had to remember to kiss the ring's stone before trying to persuade someone.
