From the far off, mystic East comes a tale of selfless devotion and love.  There was a princess named Savitri, who was so beautiful and full of charm, that she intimidated any man that attempted to court her- so her father allowed her to pick the man of her choosing.  She fell madly and deeply in love with prince and swore that she would never give her heart to another.  Sadly, an oracle foretold of his death and there was nothing that Savitri could do about it.  Tragedy struck and the prince died right in front of her.  When Death came to claim him, she begged for him to be released and to let him live.  Death was surprised that a mortal could see him, spoke to the princess and told her that it was the prince's time to go and he needed to be carried to the great beyond.  The princess followed Death, pleading the whole way for her husband's release, and Death told her to turn back that there was absolutely nothing that he could do.  As they crossed the River of Flame- Death was amazed that a mortal could follow him so far into this Realm, but he also realized the implications of her actions.  There were two catastrophic events that would happen if she continued to follow; if she were to die in the flames before it was her time to go- the Akashic Records would become corrupted and a living being existing in the Realm of Death would forever disrupt the order of the universe.  Death could not not allow either of these things to happen- so he had to appease her before all of reality became undone.  He offered her three of the most powerful wishes in existence, so long that not one of them was to bring the prince back to life.

She wished that her parents be given the ability to have sons, she wished that her blind father-in-law could see, and then wished to bear only sons worthy of her dearly departed.  Death granted the wishes, the first two without a thought, but paused after the third.  How was she suppose to have these children without a husband- the man that she vowed that she couldn't live without and would never love another?  Death had been deceived by her and the realization came too late. Honour bound by his word- he returned her husband to her, on the condition that when she passed away- he would come to claim them both.
